Registered Childminder
Based in Prestonpans, serving East Lothian
Hello! My name is Christy.
I’ve been in the childcare business for over 26 years in a wide variety of childcare.
I’m a Registered Childminder with
the Care Inspectorate and SCMA. You can check my Inspection Report on the Care Inspectorate website.
My setting is a calm, flexible home-from-home environment in a quiet residential area close to a park. I have a great understanding of child psychology and fostering healthy behaviour through modelling, role play, praise, prompting self-thinking skills, building confidence, and strong emotional support. Every child is different is a value I carry in supporting and respecting their individuality.
I follow Child-led Learning with lots of free play, open-ended toys/items, enriched learning aides, with 15 minutes of organised daily learning, and plenty of outdoor play. I have a large garden, a few walking paths, and a community play park right in front of my house. I regularly share updates, photos, and developmental observations with parents to keep you connected to your child's day and progress.
Please Note: I have 2 cats at my setting, see my Pet Policy for details.
